Pensacola teacher’s American Idol run inspires her students as she advances to top 12

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Pensacola star Keyla Richardson made it to the top 12 in American Idol. The single mother says she has been singing since she was 5-years-old.

Keyla returned on American Idol for the “Judge’s Song Contest.” Last week, she was one of fourteen contestants who made it through.

Two more people were eliminated at the start of Monday night’s episode. After that, the contestants were set to perform “90’s hits” picked by the judges…
