Springport schools dismiss early after AR‑15 threat prompts lockdown

SPRINGPORT TOWNSHIP, MI – Students in one Jackson County school district were sent home early on Friday after a threat about an individual arriving with an AR-15 to shoot up a building sent the school into lockdown.

The Springport Township Police Department received the report from the office at Springport High School shortly before 10:20 a.m. Friday, April 10, according to a news release.
