Nearly three years after a deadly shooting on the southwest side, a high-traffic stretch of the South Loop is still carrying the weight of an unsolved killing. The victim, identified by community tip groups as 32-year-old Effani Chiedu Alexander, was found shot in the driver’s seat of a vehicle on the night of April 20, 2023, near the South Loop West feeder road and South Main Street. Investigation details
According to an April 21, 2023 news release from the Houston Police Department, officers were called to a shooting at 3200 South Loop West service road. When they arrived, they found a vehicle riddled with several bullet holes and the victim unresponsive inside. Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene.
