SALEM, Ore. – Oregon taxpayers have until midnight Wednesday to file their 2025 federal and state personal income tax returns, and the Oregon Department of Revenue is offering last-minute guidance to make the process smoother.
According to the Oregon Department of Revenue, taxpayers must file a return to receive their kicker tax credit. In 2026, Oregon is returning $1.41 billion in revenue above projections to taxpayers through the kicker, a refundable credit that will either increase a state income tax refund or decrease the amount owed. Only taxpayers who filed a 2024 return and also file a 2025 return can receive a kicker. The credit is not sent separately as a check.
Taxpayers can determine their kicker amount using the What’s My Kicker? calculator on Revenue Online. They can also check their refund status using the Where’s My Refund? tool…
