WNC man faces drug charges following traffic stop, deputies say

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – A Marion man is facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop earlier this month.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said 38-year-old James Thomas Vallini II has been charged with felony possession of fentanyl and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

On April 7, a deputy stopped Vallini on Rutherford Road for a traffic violation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Marion Police Department assisted the deputy with searching Vallini’s vehicle. This led to the discovery fo a suspected amount of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said…
