ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — April is National Volunteer Month, and Mission Hospital marked the occasion with an on-site volunteer effort aimed at helping people facing food insecurity in western North Carolina.
HCA Healthcare held the activity at Mission Hospital, bringing partners and colleagues together to make sandwiches for the Asheville-based nonprofit organization Food Connection. The sandwiches were provided to multiple HCA community partners across the mountains and will be distributed to people in need.
