DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Steelton Borough is partnering with York City’s Group Violence Intervention organization to work with the community after recent shootings along the North Front Street strip.
The community event, called “Stop That,” happening Monday at the Bailey Street Park is aimed at bringing the community together “towards a space to support one another.”
Tiff Lowe, a project manager with York City’s Gun Violence Intervention organization, said she reached out after hearing Mayor Ciera Dent speak publicly about safety concerns. “What really happened but I heard Mayor did publicly say that she was afraid for her child her own kid to walk down the street,” she said. “That did something more to my spirit and so I reached out to her and I wanted to just help.”…
