A rollover crash on a busy Tennessee interstate turned into a feel-good story on Monday afternoon when both the driver and his furry passenger made it out safely without serious injury. Williamson County Fire Rescue responded to the scene on I-840 near the Columbia and Lewisburg exits after a vehicle flipped, leaving the car on its side and onlookers probably holding their breath.
The driver managed to exit the overturned vehicle on his own, suffering only minor injuries from what could have been a much more serious situation. But the real headline here was not just the driver’s lucky escape. He was not traveling alone. Riding along for the trip was Nugget, his pet ferret, who somehow made it through the whole ordeal completely unscathed.
Ferrets are not exactly your typical road trip companion, but Nugget proved that adventure is in the blood when you are that small and that resilient. Emergency crews confirmed that both the driver and Nugget were safely removed from the overturned vehicle, and neither required serious medical attention. For Williamson County Fire Rescue, it was probably not the most ordinary call of the day…
