A monument honoring two fallen officers, Lieutenant Michael Hoosock and Officer Michael Jensen, will be unveiled at James Pass Arboretum in Syracuse on Tuesday (April 14). Both officers were tragically killed in the line of duty on April 14, 2024, by a gunman. The ceremony, open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. and will be live-streamed on the Syracuse Police Department’s Facebook page.
The monument, located on Tipperary Hill, features a bronze statue of a law enforcement officer kneeling with a folded American flag. It is set atop a granite base, with tributes to Lt. Hoosock and Officer Jensen on either side. The statue also includes patches representing both the Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Tom Blake, who played a significant role in organizing the event, mentioned that the ceremony will include a moment of silence and a coordinated flyover. Attendees are asked to enter the arboretum through Myrtle Street or Avery Avenue, across from Bryant Avenue…
