Brazilian soccer star Jorginho has provided a detailed update on a recent incident involving his stepdaughter and a security guard initially believed to be connected to pop singer Chappell Roan during Lollapalooza Brazil weekend.
Last month, Jorginho expressed concern after his wife, Catherine Hardman (also known as Cat Cavelli), and his 11-year-old stepdaughter, Ada Law, were reportedly approached in an intimidating manner by a male security guard. The encounter left Ada visibly upset. Ada is Catherine’s daughter from a previous relationship with actor Jude Law.
On April 13, Jorginho addressed the situation on Instagram Stories, sharing new information that has come to light. He acknowledged that his initial response, issued on March 21, was made in the heat of the moment upon hearing about the incident. He emphasized his priority to protect his family and confirmed that the situation did occur as originally described, though his understanding has since evolved.
Jorginho referenced a public statement by Chappell Roan from March 22, in which the singer denied having any personal security involvement with the incident and said she never saw Catherine or Ada during the event. A representative for Chappell also clarified that the singer was unaware of the interaction and does not tolerate aggressive behavior toward fans.
Following private discussions between their teams, Jorginho said it became clear that Chappell had no knowledge of the breakfast incident and had not instructed anyone to approach his family. The security guard involved, Pascal Duvier, later confirmed he was representing a different artist and not Chappell Roan, describing the encounter as “regretful.”
Jorginho expressed that while the reasons for the guard’s approach remain unclear, it is evident that he was not acting on Chappell’s behalf. He characterized the event as a misunderstanding and expressed relief at setting the record straight.
He also took the opportunity to apologize for any negative impact the situation has had on Chappell Roan, his wife, his stepdaughter, and their family. Jorginho reiterated his commitment to defending his family but acknowledged the importance of reassessing situations as new facts emerge.
Closing his statement, Jorginho thanked supporters for their understanding during this sensitive time and called for respect, empathy, and humility, condemning any form of hate speech or online attacks. He concluded by stating that, in his view, the matter is now resolved.
