Lets be real, times are tough, gas prices have increased, groceries have increased, it’s tax season, it seems like everything is not going well, or maybe that’s just me? However, I highly doubt it, but here’s some good news for drivers here in Indiana and that includes us in Evansville. Governor Mike Braun recently signed an order suspending the state’s gas sales tax for 30 days, giving Hoosiers a little breathing room at the pump.

What This Means for Your Wallet

For most drivers, that translates to about 17 cents off per gallon. Not a huge windfall, but when gas prices are climbing, every bit helps. Families commuting to work, running errands, or just trying to get around town are already feeling the pinch from higher fuel and grocery costs.

Over the past two months I have noticed over a 10 dollar increase when it comes to paying for gas. Now, with knowing that there are now cents being taken away instead of tacked on, it gives me some sort of relief.

Not a Permanent Fix, But a Welcome Break

Experts warn that this is a short-term relief measure, not a long-term solution to rising fuel prices. Still, it gives drivers a moment to catch their breath and maybe even save a few bucks on that weekly gas bill.
