A woman has been arrested in connection with an alleged arson on Crosby Street in Rockford.

Arrest Follows Weeks-Long Investigation

An arson investigation by the Rockford Fire Department has led to the arrest of a 42-year-old woman accused of intentionally setting a March house fire on Crosby Street.

According to the press release, authorities say that Tanisha Love was taken into custody on Thursday, April 9, following weeks of investigative work tied to the March 11 incident at 1304 Crosby Street.

Accelerant Evidence Key to Charges

Investigators determined that an accelerant was deliberately poured inside the residence, sparking the fire. Based on those findings, Tanisha Love now faces multiple felony charges, including attempted aggravated arson, residential arson, and property arson.

Officials emphasized that the use of an accelerant significantly increased the potential danger to those inside the home.
