Hiram names Aurora lieutenant as fire chief after upheaval

The Village of Hiram has hired a new fire chief to replace the department leader who abruptly retired earlier this year.

Hiram announced the hiring of Anthony Marotta to lead the department on April 13 in posts on Facebook and the village’s website. Marotta has worked as a firefighter and paramedic for 30 years. He is a lieutenant with Aurora Fire Department, a job he’s held since 1997.
