CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Clarksville man is struggling to access his nearly $4,600 tax refund after it was loaded onto a prepaid card recommended by a tax preparation service.
John Munroe filed his taxes in February at a Jackson Hewitt kiosk inside a Walmart in Clarksville. Without his bank information available, Munroe said an employee recommended a Jackson Hewitt Serve American Express prepaid card.
The refund appeared in the card’s app after about a month, but Munroe said he has been unable to withdraw or use the money.
“All the sudden it pops up and says they don’t accept that card and I went to just about every one in this whole area,” Munroe said. “I’m getting nowhere.”…
