Dog dies after left in hot car in Myrtle Beach parking lot; 2 arrested

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Two people were charged after a dog was left inside a hot vehicle on Monday, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD).

Jailah Bryonna Cooperwood, 23, of Long Beach, California, and William Anthony Clark Jr., 23, of District Heights, Maryland, were each charged with one felony count of ill-treatment of animals.

Just before 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a parking area near the intersection of 8th Avenue North and Legion Street in reference to a dog in distress inside a vehicle, officials said…
