Monroe County under flood watch until Friday morning

The National Weather Service initiated a flood watch for Monroe County on Tuesday, April 14, from 8 p.m. this evening to 2 a.m. on Friday, April 17.

NWS warns that excessive runoff may result in flooding rivers, creeks, and streams. It may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

“In the last 10 days, most of southeastern Michigan has seen 1.5 to 4.5 inches of rainfall which has saturated soils before the main spring green up,” said the NWS website. “Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely starting this evening and continuing through Thursday evening.”…
