Student Threat Sparks Lockdown Scare at Alice Johnson Junior High

Alice Johnson Junior High in Channelview went into lockdown Monday after a student allegedly threatened another student, prompting a rapid response from school officials and law enforcement. District leaders said they immediately followed established safety protocols while the situation was investigated. Officials later determined the student did not have the means to carry out the threat and stated the student will face consequences under the district’s Student Code of Conduct.

According to FOX 26 Houston, Channelview ISD said the campus activated its lockdown protocol after a student made a threat toward another student. The district notified law enforcement and launched an investigation. Administrators later concluded the student lacked the means to follow through on the threat.

In a statement shared with the station, Channelview ISD said, “Channelview ISD is committed to the safety of our students as well as transparently notifying our community as soon as information becomes available.”
