A Sugar Land-based developer revealed plans for a 120-acre residential, commercial and entertainment district on a long-idle site in Pearland.
Planned Community Developers is proposing a mix of retail, dining and office space, single- and multi-family housing, and a hotel and convention center on the site at the intersection of Highway 288 and Beltway 8. Construction on the project, called The Orchard, could begin in early 2027 and is expected to take five to seven years, PCD president Don Janssen told the Houston Chronicle.
