$270 million Upper Kirby project breaks ground in Houston as developers bet on future demand

A $270 million mixed-use development broke ground Tuesday in Upper Kirby, a long-anticipated project that will transform a city block with luxury apartments and high-end office space.

The 953,000-square-foot development includes a 38-story apartment high-rise and a 10-story boutique office at the corner of Kirby Drive and Kipling Street near Whole Foods.
