Birmingham City Council approves funding for Village Creek Linear Walking Trail

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham City Council has approved $347,115 for the Village Creek Linear Walking Trail, a project city leaders say will help connect neighborhoods and expand access to green space in West Birmingham.

The trail is part of the larger Red Rock Trail System, which is being developed to create a connected network of paths across the city and region. The Village Creek project will convert an inactive rail corridor into a multi-use trail with about 4.5 miles planned.
