Residents in the Red Hill community are raising concerns after learning about a proposed rock quarry near their homes.
According to state documents from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, the company Reed Materials, LLC has applied for permits to build and operate the quarry. The plans include measures to limit dust from crushing rock and control water runoff from the site.
