Alabama mother shares son’s story after mental health system failure

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A mother spoke out Tuesday about what she calls a system failure that led to her son facing murder charges.

Tindra Hammett spoke at the North Alabama Mental Health Coalition meeting, sharing the story of her son, River Hammett. He is facing murder charges after police say he stabbed another man to death in Marshall County.
