Local activist proposes youth workforce transportation pilot program

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Many in Mobile believe youth employment is one of the strongest tools against violence, giving young people structure, income and a reason to show up.

DJ Rodski has mentored kids for years and says the problem he hears most isn’t a lack of drive — it’s not having a ride.

“Every day that’s the biggest obstacle. DJ Rodski can you give me a ride, I need a ride to training, I need a ride to an interview, I need a ride to my job and sometimes these young people work in fast food, so they don’t get off until 9 or 10 at night,” Rodski said…
