North in Bloom crashes the Twin Cities’ Couture Show

After a long, snowy winter where the landscape has been dominated by shades of white and gray, the halls of Galleria Edina have erupted into a riot of spring color. But among the fifteen one-of-a-kind floral masterpieces currently stopping shoppers in their tracks, one particular mannequin is standing out from the rest and that’s the outlier: North in Bloom from downtown Grand Rapids.

From April 10 through April 19, the internationally acclaimed Fleurs de Villes FLORA exhibition is making its Minnesota debut. The show, which has traveled from Miami to major global destinations like London and Sydney, transforms fresh flowers into high-fashion couture.

When Madeline Cook, owner and lead florist of North in Bloom, saw the application for the world-renowned show, it called for Twin Cities talent. Cook decided to ignore the geographic perimeter and apply anyway…
