AKRON, Ohio — Police in Akron have charged a security guard for allegedly raping a woman at the John F. Seiberling Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse.
Officials say the assault occurred last Thursday afternoon, telling 3News it occurred in the building’s employee-only weight room. The accuser, who works at the courthouse, then alerted security, who eventually called police.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Jason Simmons, of Akron. Records show he was released from custody last Friday after posting bond. The case has now been sent to a Summit County grand jury…
