LAKE LURE, N.C. — The town will begin a Phase One “soft opening” of Lake Lure on April 20, 2026, allowing limited public access as lake conditions improve following ongoing recovery efforts, the town announced.
Lake levels are approaching full pond, and town officials said the phased reopening will allow recreational use while safety conditions continue to be monitored and restoration work continues.
Under Phase One, the entire lake will remain a no-wake zone until further notice. Town officials said the restriction will remain in place until conditions improve and may be lifted at the discretion of the town manager. Authorized contractors are exempt when performing approved work…
