$150,000 worth of fake electronics seized at Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Over 1,000 fake electronics were seized at the Peace Bridge earlier this year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers.

CBP officers say on February 21, they searched a commercial vehicle that contained several shipments of cellphones, smart watches, and streaming devices. Investigators later determined the devices were not authentic and seized them for having counterfeit trademarks.

On March 30, CBP trade experts appraised the electronics and determined that if they were authentic, they would have a combined retail value of over $150,000…
