MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Patriots Point will host a memorial Thursday to honor the 32 sailors killed aboard the USS Laffey during the battle of Okinawa in 1945.
The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. aboard the USS Yorktown, overlooking the USS Laffey, which is currently closed as repairs to the detached access walkway continue.
