‘The Elex’ apartment complex opens at Electric Works

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Another phase of plans for the Electric Works campus came to life Wednesday.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the full opening of The Elex, an apartment complex designed to house residents of a wide age range and from a variety of financial backgrounds. Of the 296 units, 89 of those are considered affordable housing.

Residents ages 55 and older were the first to have access to move into The Elex last year.

Besides the apartments themselves, the complex offers residents amenities such as a club room and an outdoor courtyard that features fireplaces, a gas grill and a pizza oven. Further development is planned for a fitness and wellness center, an early childhood learning center, and commercial space…
