KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville couple who operate an appliance repair business says their company name is being used by a scammer. The couple says the scammer has been operating for more than a year.
Kevin Dunne is a certified factory appliance repairman for several major brands. He and his wife are the owners of a local franchise called National Platinum Service. When people call, Juanita Dunne sets up the appointments and keeps the books for their business. For a year now, someone has been using their company’s name or something similar to it.

“We started getting complaints from customers saying that a technician went to their houses and never fixed the appliances, and charged a whole bunch of money, and he disappeared,” said Kevin Dunne.
Juanita Dunne said that since receiving customer complaints on their website, she’s asked people to send her invoices from the man who claims he was with National Platinum Service, or a name much like it…
