Public officials on the Eastern Shore of Baldwin County expressed growing frustration Wednesday over the lack of information and progress on the largest infrastructure project in Alabama’s history: the Interstate 10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project.
The project received a major boost two years ago when Alabama secured the largest federal infrastructure grant in state history. Yet an official groundbreaking ceremony to launch the multi-year construction effort remains out of reach. Local public officials in Baldwin County now say they are not being provided with key details, and financing arrangements are still not finalized.
