Wildfire smoke lingers, prompting parent concerns on students’ health

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Parts of Horry County began Monday with thick smoke due to a wildfire in Marion County. It’s prompting concern from parents about sending their child to school with that smoke lingering.

Lisa Woods said her son has asthma, and some of that smoke is inside the school. She tells me he’s now out of school this week after a trip to the emergency room.
