Thunderstorm chances return to the PNW

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Wet, wintry, and stormy weather returns to the region on Wednesday for western Oregon and southwest Washington on Wednesday.

Temperatures will run nearly 10 degrees below average on Wednesday afternoon with daytime highs in the low 50s for the Willamette Valley on Wednesday. The cold airmass following this latest cold front will help to increase instability across the region. With a few sun breaks possible this afternoon, thunderstorms could develop across the Oregon coastline and valley today.

No severe weather is expected, but a stray lightning strike or two is possible. Small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and thunder are all possible for the Oregon Coast and along the Willamette Valley on Wednesday…
