Two men to appear in court in deadly Lansing street racing crash

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Two men charged in a deadly street racing crash that killed a 15-year-old boy and injured 12 others in Lansing are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Keondre Morgan and John Velasquez-Hicks each face charges of reckless driving causing death and reckless driving causing serious bodily impairment.

The crash occurred April 24, 2025, on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lansing. Police said Morgan and Velasquez-Hicks were racing when a third vehicle entered the roadway.
