SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Record-high diesel prices are straining school transportation budgets and forcing some districts to consider shifting funds to maintain bus services.
“At the beginning of the year we were paying about $3.50 a gallon for diesel. Our most recent shipment was $6.50 a gallon,” said Associate Superintendent of Business Support Services for Poway Unified School District (PUSD) Eric Dill.
