Byram hopes for water service improvements with new board representation

BYRAM, Miss. — Gov. Tate Reeves signed the Metro Jackson Water Authority Act, changing oversight of Jackson’s water services.

The law creates a new board with representatives from Jackson, Ridgeland, Byram and the state. Jackson leaders have opposed the change, but other cities that rely on the service said change was needed for customers.
