Current council members running for the Reno mayor’s seat got the most money in the January to March fundraising period with Kathleen Taylor receiving about 100K, according to how we tabulated documents from today, and Devon Reese about 76k, with both of them receiving substantial amounts from those with recent business in front of council, including billionaire Aces owner Herb Simon who gave $5,000 to each and Heinz Ranch Land Company who gave $2,500 to each.
Kate Marshall was in third with 66k but with lots of individual donors including $3000 from Maggie Rivera, $5000 from Diana Bennett, $1000 from Chuck Cook, $2500 from Jennifer Satre, $1000 from Edgar Flores, as well as $3000 from the Washoe Education Association, $2500 from the Atlantis Casino and $2500 from Local 169.
