L.A. renter near LAX recalls terrifying moment ice chunks crashed through ceiling

A Whittier man who narrowly escaped serious injury or death when a large chunk of ice came crashing through his ceiling earlier this week is speaking out about the frightening ordeal.

The April 14 incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. at Yudier Grau’s Whittier home, which just so happens to sit underneath a flight path into Los Angeles International Airport.

Grau told KTLA’s Carlos Saucedo in Spanish that at first, he thought a gas line had ruptured and exploded, prompting him to immediately run outside. When he went back into the accessory dwelling unit he had been renting for nearly a year, he saw debris scattered throughout the living room, along with a massive hole in the ceiling and roof…
