North Charleston woman arrested after victim says $100 was taken from his pocket

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A woman was arrested Wednesday in connection to a robbery that occurred on Ashley Phosphate Road, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Lakeysha Lassiter, a 43-year-old from North Charleston was charged with strong-armed robbery and was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The report on the incident states that police met with the victim who stated that Lassiter was panhandling when she approached him and asked for money. When he refused, she reportedly became upset, reached into his pocket and forcibly took out $100 before running away.

Police state that they reviewed footage of the incident and one of the officers identified the suspect as Lassiter, who they state was known to frequent the Northside Drive area.Officers searched the nearby area and spotted a woman matching Lassiter’s description, though she had changed clothes…
