SANM DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A San Diego man is in custody following an armed robbery and a series of thefts tied to online marketplace sales across the county, authorities said.

According to the El Cajon Police Department, the investigation began on March 8, when a suspect arranged to buy a cellphone from an individual in El Cajon. Police say the man met the seller at their home, entered the garage and was handed the phone before allegedly pulling out a knife and fleeing without paying.
Detectives used search warrants, records checks and automated license plate reader data to identify the suspect and his vehicle.
Investigators later determined the man was allegedly connected to multiple similar thefts throughout the county, some of which remain under investigation…
