A Livingston Parish fire chief could soon be disciplined after allegedly saying a racial slur

A Livingston Parish fire chief could soon face discipline next week after recently being accused of saying a racial slur during a meeting.

The Livingston Parish Fire Protection District Five Board met on Tuesday and also discussed, in executive session, a report accusing its fire chief, Joe Koczrowski, of saying the N-word. But no action was taken at the time.

The matter comes after WAFB-TV reported about an audio recording allegedly capturing Koczrowski using the N-word during a meeting reportedly where new developments and rising rent costs in Denham Springs were being discussed…
