This Mount Pleasant Restaurant’s Seafood Is So Fresh, It’s Dependent On The Daily Catches Of 1 Man

Her characters’ kitchens, beach houses, and studies have taken on a life of their own, becoming some of the most-searched aesthetics across Pinterest and TikTok (the trendy 2024 aesthetic “coastal grandmother” was named for Meyers!).

In our real lives, it’s hard to find moments that feel as perfectly curated as a Nancy Meyers movie, where the colors, mood, lighting, and energy line up like a gorgeous constellation to deliver an experience that almost appears to levitate over the surface of our normal lives, an extra special moment in time. But at Post House in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, that’s exactly what you’ll find.

The Location

The Post House restaurant, a 143-seat eatery situated on the back side of the Michelin Key-awarded inn of the same name, immediately envelops you into its atmosphere. The inn, a seven-room boutique property sitting just shy of the waterfront in Mount Pleasant, genuinely feels cinematic in its location and decor: rustic but never kitschy, candlelit and fragrant, authentically nautical.

My husband Jordan and I arrived a little early for our reservation, so we decided to stroll through the tree-lined neighborhood ahead of checking in for dinner. The Old Village, as locals call it, is dripping with massive live oaks and warm lighting spilling out of every windowpane. Every street in this area terminates in a waterfront view, making dawn and dusk endless panoramas of vista and horizon line. It was an unusually warm February evening: deep, rich colors painting the sunset sky and bathing the restaurant in golden-hour light. As we approached the restaurant, we came up on what truly did feel like a scene from a movie: A gorgeous bride in her billowing gown posed for photos with her new husband outside the inn…
