MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Demolition is underway nearly six months after an auditorium at a Midtown Mobile Baptist church went up in flames.
Crews have been working all Thursday at 3Circle Church on Sage Avenue and Emogene Street to get the auditorium down after it caught on fire due to an electrical issue in October.

“That’s where we’d have, you know, a lot of our youth gatherings, regular Sunday gatherings. We’d also host community events there,” Gaston continued.
Every Sunday since the fire, those who were attending 3Circle are now going to Dauphin Way Baptist Church. There are other buildings at the Midtown property that were in use before demolition started, but now everything is closed.
Campus pastor Micah Gaston said they are thankful that work is finally underway.
“They’re completely demolishing the auditorium. But again, that’s one building on our campus. We’re very saddened by that. It is a landmark,” said Micah Gaston.

Gaston said 3Circle is not sure what is going to be rebuilt once the auditorium is torn down. Demolition should last for another few weeks…
