(KRON) — What started as a routine patrol stop quickly turned into a larger investigation, leading to the arrests of two suspects linked to organized retail theft, according to the California Highway Patrol Solano area office.

During the enforcement stop, a search of the suspects’ vehicle uncovered approximately $5,000 in stolen merchandise, nine identification cards and four bottles of promethazine hydrochloride, described by CHP as “a key ingredient in an illegal recreational drink.”
