Months of Stench End in Grim Find: Two Bodies in Wilmington Apartment

What started as a strange smell in a Wilmington apartment building ended in a grim discovery Thursday morning, when two bodies were found inside a home on the 1300 block of 7th Street. The call brought a heavy police presence and a news helicopter to the tight-knit neighborhood, with the area blocked off for hours as detectives worked the scene. So far, officials are keeping most details close to the vest while the investigation continues.

What Police Have Said So Far

According to 6abc Philadelphia, the call came in around 8:40 a.m., bringing Chopper 6 over the 1300 block of 7th Street as officers converged on the property. The two bodies were removed from the home at about 11 a.m. Wilmington police have not said who first discovered the victims or how they were found, and are describing the case only as an ongoing investigation. The department has not yet released the victims’ identities or the cause and manner of death.
