Two semi trucks collide on Interstate 35 in Clay County

A two-vehicle crash involving semi trucks occurred Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2026, on Interstate 35 near the 21.4 mile marker, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at approximately 2:20 p.m. when a 2015 Mack truck, driven by a 49-year-old man from Raytown, Missouri, experienced an equipment malfunction while traveling northbound. The Mack then struck the passenger side of a 2024 Kenworth truck driven by a 62-year-old woman from Tingley, Iowa.

After the impact, the Mack traveled off the roadway and came to rest in the median. The Kenworth also left the roadway and came to rest on the north outer road…
