OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Make-A-Wish Nebraska granted a special trip to a Bennington teenager during her battle with kidney failure, bringing her a spot of joy while she waited for a life-saving transplant.
MadisonRose Christensen, now 16, said she had severe nosebleeds that lasted 45 minutes to an hour. Over the next year, her condition worsened to the point where she could barely walk. Doctors struggled to identify the cause.
“Her hemoglobins got to such a low point that her organs were shutting down,” said Nichole Christensen, MadisonRose’s mother. “We went through multiple bone marrow biopsies just to try to figure it out. The doctor said, enough is enough, let’s do a bone marrow transplant. That’s what’s going to fix her.”
