Williams Fork Reservoir closed to motorized boats for the year

Motorized boats will not be allowed on Williams Fork Reservoir in 2026 because of low water levels during the current Stage 1 drought.

The east boat ramp at Williams Fork Reservoir typically provides access to motorized boats when conditions allow, but it cannot open when reservoir elevation levels are below 7,790 feet. Levels are currently about 13 feet below where they need to be and won’t be high enough in 2026 to allow the ramp to open, Denver Water stated in an April 15 press release.

Small, hand-launched vessels exempt from aquatic nuisance species inspections, such as kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards, will still be allowed so long as they are motorless…
