The Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office has promoted Elizabeth Mackey to be the new deputy chief assistant district attorney of the Gang/Organized Crime Unit.
The unit focuses on prosecuting gang-related crimes and organized retail crimes, while working closely with law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks that threaten the community, according to the DA’s office. In this role, Mackey will oversee the unit’s daily operations and supervise prosecutors assigned to the team.
