Woman accused of stealing MFD ambulance, driving to AR

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis Fire Department ambulance was stolen while crews were treating a patient early Friday morning, and a 63-year-old woman has been charged after it was recovered in Arkansas.

MFD says crews were treating a patient around 2:15 a.m. when they saw an unknown person driving Unit 30 away from the scene.

Police say the ambulance was taken from the 1300 block of Tunica Street, off Chelsea in North Memphis. Ambulance crews had just retrieved a stretcher and went back inside a house to treat a patient when they saw the ambulance driving away…
